If your AP/Node has a web server, you can embed this in your splash page or (even better) announce via Rendezvous..
Not all APs run customizable web servers, but of course, a server (or small dock/tray application) on the local lan can handle this.
Your client can then listen for the Rendezvous Beacons and pick up the RDF. You can then use offline tools to visualize, map, determine services available, etc.
