I agree with almost everyting in your theory, but I think that the race on Earth, that first created cylons, are from Atlantis - thy mythical continent, destroyed, blah blah. That would make the Colonials come (back) to Earth at about ancient Greek times, or at our times, depends on dating the Atlantis.
