A Similar Microcomputer Workshop Picnic April 30. (Probably not)
Due to the limited size of physical AMW this year, I have reserved a picnic spot for Saturday April 30, the day after the workshop. Outdoors, you can be less afraid of Covid and the cost is free, other than parking.
However, interest was much lower than anticipated, so I am withdrawing the reservation, if allowed. However, if it suddenly picks up, we can still go to an unreserved location.
Please register interest in coming on this form. Submit another form for other people coming with you.
Current plan is Baylands Park Owl Burrow but check back here to confirm.
People can bring their own food and coolers, however, another option is for somebody to coordinate with a nice local restaurant that has online ordering and delivery. Then for meals we can just all order and pay for our own and get a big shared delivery. Let me know if you would like to help.
We can even have talks if people are keen on that. That needs volunteers to bring a large bright HDTV. Amplified sound is legal at this location (with a small extra fee) or one can talk to a small group. Other than talks it might be good to do basic group discussions on topics with a leader. Very unstructured. The picnic areas have some basic mesh shade, but bring sunscreen if you need it. We'll start around 10am and go as long as folks are there. AMW people are welcome but feel free to invite those from other circles, such as Hackers.
Covid
Please be vaccinated and bring your card. Transmission is much less likely in an outdoor place with breeze like this, but still better to be safe. Masks are encouraged but not required in the outdoor setting. Bring one for the bathroom. Do not come if you have Covid symptoms, sorry. If you don't know what they are look them up and don't say, "Oh, it's probably nothing." Omicron is super infectious. Please bring a later flow assay antigen test or other home test or test result. These tests are free from most health care plans or from the government. You won't get a free one on time but you can replenish others you have. Note that these tests only detect 40% of Omicron cases or less -- they reduce probabilities but are far from an assurance.
