As you say, self delivery seems to be of dubious benefit. It's a one time trip, and despite video quality being excellent it is not remotely close to being physically present for a handover.
A far more useful use of limited self driving would be for it to sneak out at night and go to a charging station while you sleep. There are of course many potential EV owners who don't have off street parking or if they do, don't have a charger there.
Admittedly there is work to do with getting the car and charger to connect, and wireless charging probably doesn't work for a privately owned vehicle unless you can do both wireless and plugged in charging.
Driving at night might be more difficult for Tesla with camera only, but could be offset by less traffic, being able to choose an easy route, chargers could be located with limited self driving in mind.
Also if you don't have to be there, then charging speed could be slower unless there is a queue.
